Oman Cricket: MCS, SARCO register victories
Muscat: Abrar Hussain struck another match-winning triple, scoring 81 off 45 balls to steer Muscat Cricket Sports (MCS) into a comfy six-wicket win from White Lotus International in a Senior Cup Knockout game at Muscat Municipality Ground I in Al Amerat.
Asked to bat first, White Lotus scored 162 for seven at 20 overs because of unbeaten 65 off 41 from Mohammed Sameer. For MCS, Bharat Barmeda bagged two for 28.
Riding on Abrar’s brilliant knock, MCS overhauled the target 17.5 overs, scoring 166 for four. Ahmed Khan contributed unbeaten 35 . For White Lotus, captain Neil Paily claimed two wickets.
Short scores: White Lotus International 162 for 7 in 20 overs (Mohammed Sameer 65 n.o.; Bharat Marmeda 2/28) dropped to MCS 166 for 4 at 18.5 overs (Abrar Hussain 81, Ahmed Khan 35 n.o.; Nail Paily 2/36).
In a second Senior Cup game at the exact same venue, SARCO played with a three-wicket victory against Al Mada Engineering.
Batting first, Al Mada has been dismissed for 140 in 19.2 overs. Shaheer Najeeb (45 off 34) and Shahil Mohammed (33 off 32) were the main scorers. To get SARCO, Pradeep Salain operates nicely, carrying 3 for 24.
SARCO hurried into the target in only 14.5 overs, scoring 141 for seven thanks to some superb 45 off 25 from Rakesh Patel and 30 off 29 from Ajay Menon. Jayaprakash Narayan and Nishanth Menon took two wickets each.

Within an Intermediate Cup match match, National Bank of Oman (NBO) thrashed Zubair CT by 83 runs at Muscat Municipality Ground II.
Invited to bat first, NBO amassed 220 for five 20 overs because of brilliant 89 off 59 from Syed Arfan Ali and 17-ball 41 by Omani star Ismail Ghulam Al Balushi. Fazal Khan took just two.
Zubair CT didn’t pose any threat to NBO, managing just 137 for eight in 20 overs. Mayalakkara (29 off 25) and Neeraj Nambiar (24 off 26) were the sole main scorers. Shahid Mughal, Sadik Khan and Manas Kapoor all took two wickets each.
